Meet The Mezcaleros

Juan Jose Enrique Chicharon (lead guitar, vocals)

Born in the town of San Benito, Juan was the 11th child born to Juan and Prudencia Chicharon. As a child, Juan worked the fields of the family farm learning to sing while he picked avacados from the trees. At age of 18, he bought his first Tiesco del Rey guitar and left home. Working the night shift at the local mortuary gave him plenty of time to hone his skills on the guitar. He was discovered one day by Pancho Villa as Pancho dropped off some dead ferderales at the mortuary. joining Pancho Villas soldiers, Juan became the camp musician and wrote many of his most popular songs while he was a Villista.

Fito Cantu de la Parra (drums, guitar, percussion, vocals)

Born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas , Fito's earliest musical influences were a combination of his father's love for Spanish music and his mother's love of tacos. He remembers listening to the Trio Los Panchos at the local cantina with his father and some woman friend. Later he discovered the tambor or mexican drum. This led to an obbsession with hitting all kinds of things. His family soon discovered his talent for percussion and sent him away to the Santa Anna Military School where he became the school Drum Major. Now graduated and married, Fito manages the Mezcaleros and sells tequila to the local bars.

Patricio Concepcion Lavamanos (lead guitar, bass, vocals)

Born in Cabo San Lucas, Patricio was influenced by music his older brothers listened to. He went to El Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico where he received his Jurisprudence degree after 5 years and 3 bribes. He hung his shingle out and became a very successful barrister in Mexico until he was caught walking out of a bar without paying the tab. We still need to know how he learned to play the guitar.

Beto Inocencio Ochoa C/S (vocals, guitar, bass)

"Art is expression, which is why music is so important to me and why it helps to shape our world--and why I play"( It also helps me pick up chicks!)

Beto won't tell much about himself, but we will eventually get it out of him
